We are delighted to welcome back Wild Arts for the second season of the Essex Summer Opera Festival. Bring your picnic to have on the lawn, and enjoy the performance in the Opera Barn. Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love is one of the great Italian operas – full of tunes, romance, and mischievous comedy.
Fully staged in costume, sung in English by a stunning cast from major opera houses, directed by Guido Martin-Brandis, and with chamber orchestra conducted by Orlando Jopling.
The sparkling comedy of the hapless Nemorino, hopelessly in love with the beautiful Adina, will be brought to life by an outstanding young cast of singers including rising star soprano Galina Averina.
A fine young cast excel, with engaging energy and superb singing. ★★★★ The Guardian on our Così fan tutte last year
Wild Arts’ opera evenings are of a breathtakingly high, ROH-level musical standard – gorgeous musicians and mischievously well acted. I’d follow them anywhere. Libby Purves
We recommend you book soon. The performances last year played to packed houses and this year’s Saturday night is already selling well so we are expecting a sellout.
Tickets from £25. Boxes available.
Families are especially welcome on the 3pm Sunday matinee on 24th June, for which tickets will be £10 for everyone under the age of 26. This performance had a waiting list last year, so do please book soon to make sure of your seat.
Primary schools are be invited for free to the schools dress rehearsal at 11am on Thursday 15th June. If you know of any schools which might like to take up this offer, please get in touch with Wild Arts via their website or via email@example.com
