Your Wedding Ceremony in the Corsellis Room
The Corsellis Room is probably the most attractive wedding ceremony venue in Essex. With the red carpeted aisle, the soft warm tones of the exposed brickwork and elaborate Tudor beams, the Corsellis Room is the perfect setting for two people to exchange their vows.
With the consent of the Registrars you have the opportunity to personalise your wedding ceremony with readings and music. We provide a good sound system which may be used to play your CDs and which is operated by our staff. The acoustics of the room are excellent and some couples choose to hire the service of a live musician – harpist, keyboard player, guitarist, string quartet or vocalist. We are happy to make suggestions of musicians, but you are free to choose who you like.
The Corsellis Room is very attractive, with silk flowers, Mulberry wall-hangings and the warm mahogany tones of the chairs. You may like to personalise the decoration with flowers or ribbons on the chairs and an arrangement on the Wedding Table.
Corsellis Room and Tuke’s Chamber
The Corsellis Room and Tuke’s Chamber are situated on the first floor, accessed by either a stair case or lift. Both rooms have fine pincer beam roofs with unusual carpenters’ markings as well as original wattle and daub walls and polished oak flooring. The rooms benefit from excellent acoustics so a PA system is not usually required.
Karen was an amazing help all the way through the planning process right down to helping the bridesmaids figure out when to walk – and firing up the elevator for my 90 year old grandmother. Everyone at Layer Marney was incredible and greatly surpassed our expectations.
