As you walk up the aisle with your friends and family around you, the majestic beamed roof soaring above, and surrounded by history, you will be beginning a new chapter in your own lives.

At Layer Marney Tower Wedding Ceremonies usually take place in the Corsellis Room, which seats up to 120 guests, in Tuke’s Chamber which can hold 40 guests, or in the hall at the base of the Tower, which can accommodate up to 18 guests. The Corsellis Room has exquisite Mulberry hangings which form a beautiful backdrop for photographs and adjoins Tuke’s Chamber with which it shares an original wattle and daub wall. The Tudor and Jacobean panelling of the Hall of the Tower offer an intimate setting for smaller groups.

You will need to contact the Essex Registration Services (telephone 0345 603 7632) to discuss the legal requirements and book a Registrar to conduct the ceremony. The Registrars are in charge of the Wedding Ceremony and payment for their services should be made directly to them.

If you wish to hold your Wedding Ceremony at Layer Marney Tower and your Wedding Reception elsewhere, then the booking will be for 1 hour, giving time for your Wedding Ceremony and subsequent photography. Wedding Ceremonies may take place any time from 10am – 1pm on any day of the week. Wedding Ceremonies may only be held after 1pm if booked with a reception.

Within the grounds of Layer Marney Tower lies the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin. This church is not the property of Layer Marney Tower.
