There are six tented encampments in the grounds of Layer Marney Tower each named after one of the wives of Henry VIII.
Each encampment has a main tent sleeping up to 6 people in comfortable beds, there is a plumbed in loo, cold running water to the kitchen sink, and battery operated lights. A comfortable sofa and large table and a wooden floor running throughout and onto a large veranda, that adds 1/3 to the living space. There is an indoor and outdoor cooking stove fuelled by logs that are provided. There is a private shower. Three of the encampments have hot tubs (book them through Featherdown)
There is a small shop that will supply items you might have forgotten and we can order food in for you.
What can I say, what an experience. We had a great time at Layer Marney Tower. Lord Nick (as we called him) was an absoulte super star nothing was too much for him. Our party had organised a murder mystery dinner party and due to the cold weather he even heated the Long Gallery (which was a great setting for the event) i the Tower for us to use. We will definitely be going back better prepared. Would be great for children in the safe environment.
We had a lovely time! The heat generated by that stove was fantastic! Cooking was really quick too. Beds were really warm. The boys loved their ‘cupboard’ bed. We will definitely be back! Layer Marney Tower is a wonderful building.
A fantastic break, all the qualities of camping but with the luxuries of a hotel! Set in stunning grounds of Tower Marney we were lavished with spectacualr views and wildlife surrounding us. The chickens were a welcome extra as were their delicious eggs! The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us…even in the pouring rain, giving a tour on arrival and starting our wood burner, our spirits weren’t dampened. The fruit and veg on arrival was plentiful (over ordered by accident – worth noting it’s not per person!) All round lovely break with our young children. Well done Tower Marney!
We came for the first time to celebrate our 10th wedding annivarsary and had a fantastic time! Right in the nature, the kids kept getting in and out of the hot tub all day long, we built a den and saw baby deer. I wouldn’t for the world have spent that time in a 5 star hotel!
Up there with the best family holidays we have ever had. It was wonderful
Provides a collection of fabulous family and friend memories. An adventure for all.
