A fun relaxed way to learn a bit about the history of the Tower with a staff member, no extra charge, no need to book. Meet in the Courtyard at 2.00 p.m.
Tour Leader, Jackie, will tell you some of the background history of the Tower, why it was built, who built it and the families who have lived here over the centuries.
She will take you to the top of the Tower and after your tour you can wander at your leisure and see the Batte Lay Foundation Art Exhibition by local East Anglian artists, the Crowns and Crests Exhibition – crowns and crests that were once on show in St George’s Chapel Windsor, now removed from there as their Garter Knight owners have died (all within the reign of our current Queen) She will encourage you to visit our huge Dolls’ House and spend some time wandering in the church amongst the Marney tombs.
Finally you can enjoy a cream tea in the Stables Tea Room. A day when we have a Tower Tour is a very good day to come to see us.
