The Layer Marney Cup Re-Run

Come and join in the Layer Marney Cup Re-Run – a car fuel consumption trial first run 105 years ago.  It isn’t a race, but rather, best fuel consumption on the day.  There are classes for all types of cars in decades from 1914, so, modern or old.  Cars can take part without being in the actual Fuel Consumption Trial. For further information and a booking form and entrance charges for participating cars please email

The cars in the Trial will start at RHS Hyde Hall and finish at Layer Marney Tower.  They will go via St Peter’s Chapel, Bradwell-on-on-Sea  The distance is approximately 70 miles.

General visitors (house opening prices apply) can enjoy the cars finishing at Layer Marney Tower.   We expect the cars to arrive at Layer Marney Tower about 3.30 in the afternoon ready to be admired and enjoyed.
