Join BBC Essex's Steve Scruton and Ian Wyatt on a brand new route for July.
Hear their stories, fun commentary and great music as, this time, we travel through the stunning scenery of north and central Essex with new surprises along the way!
PLUS a fabulous Afternoon Tea awaits when we return to historic Layer Marney Tower, served in the Long Gallery.
What does the day offer?

The route includes;
- Chappel and its famous viaduct
- A coffee stop to visit a newly restored piece of recent Essex railway history – bound to bring back memories for many of us!
- Countryside views passing through Halstead, Gosfield and its beautiful lake
- Great Bardfield with tales of the artists who put it on the map and the chance to taste a local treat!
- A lunchtime stop in Finchingfield – the most photographed village in England
- A scenic drive through The Hedinghams to the Essex/Suffolk borders for a comfort stop in Gainsborough Country and the chance to pop in to a department store family-run since 1895!
The bus departs Layer Marney Tower at 10am.
We return around 3pm for Afternoon Tea. The day finishes around 4pm.
