As part of our 500 year celebrations we have arranged for a re-enactment of the last stage in Henry Marney’s funeral parade.
Please come and see the parade leave Grove Road at 10am and turn left into Church Road.
Six horses pulling the effigy of Henry, 1st Lord Marney, dressed in full armour and drapes will be accompanied by priests, monks, grandees and every day folk dressed in Tudor costume.
We invite you to line the streets as they make their way along Church Road, Factory Hill & Brook Road.
Then you may like to make your way to Layer Marney Tower and see them arrive at midday.
You will have the opportunity to meet the beautiful horses and enjoy all the fun of the Tudor Fair. We have arranged for lots of games, music, dancing, Tudor craft demonstrations, food, encampments and falconry to entertain you throughout the day.
Tickets are available on the door and in advance by visiting the Tudor Fair on our events page.
We hope you can join us!
