SPECIAL WEEKEND BREAK - LIMITED AVAILABILITY
January and February 2010 - Weekend Break To enquire about availability please click here The Tea House at Layer Marney Tower is an Edwardian Folly renovated to the highest standard and transformed into a delightful cottage. It sleeps 4 people and is graded 4 stars. The Tea House was built in 1910 for the de Zoete family. They would wander down to this ‘Tea Pavilion’, where the butler would serve tea & cakes whilst the family conversed and enjoyed the view. Over a period of time the Tea House fell into decline. It was used as an apple store, a cow shed and finally had cracks in the brickwork so large that a hand could pass through the wall. Renovated and extended during 1999 and 2000, the Tea House has been transformed into a delightful cottage of the very highest standard, providing 2 bedrooms, a dining/sitting room, kitchen, hall and bathroom. Graded 4 stars, the property has a unique combination of 21st century convenience and timeless style. Sorry, no pets. The Tea House has polished mahogany flooring, original oak beams, wood burning stoves and a luxuriously appointed kitchen. Completely detached, the Tea House offers privacy and tranquility in the most beautiful setting. The south facing terrace overlooks fields and the north side has wonderful views of the Grade 1 listed Layer Marney Tower. For further information and bookings you may telephone 01206 330784.
